Hi,

We find AT&T cellular Iot starter kit to be ideal for our  product's IOT gateway. But we are not sure if it could be used for product development outside USA. Please let us know the same and the S/W & H/W dependencies with regards to AT&T, or if you have alternative IOT starter kit.

Thanks

Hi,  AT&T told me that the starter kit SIM Card and current service for the kit is only for the United States and Mexico for full AT&T owned towers.  The hardware is capable to operate in some areas in other parts of the world but the service AT&T is providing does not yet work anywhere else at this time.

There are plans to extend the coverage to other areas but nothing that I know of has been made official.  Sorry, that is the best I can answer at this time.

Sorry about this too: no you cannot at this time put in a different SIM card because cellular carriers have to certify devices on their own network.  It is AT&T's kit and they are the only ones to have certified it on their own network.

Best Regards,

-Fred
