WNC_ADB unauthorized Issue

Hey all, currently running into issues with the AT&T IoT Starter Kit 2nd Gen ADB setup.

After running adb devices in my VM Linux environment, after following all instructions of course, I get WNC_ADB unauthorized. Digging further - looking into adbkey.pub located in root/.android the contents of that file go from "wnc000000" to a whole bunch of gibberish. Even after deleting that gibberish content and replacing it with "wnc000000" and doing the process over again (i.e. adb kill-server, sudo adb devices), adbkey.pub goes back to that gibberish content.

Any advice?
