The WNC 14A2A Shield Board has both a "Primary" and "Diversity" antenna connection.  Will it harm the board to use only a single antenna connected to the "Primary"?

Hi,  It depends on what harm means.  It won't damage the board, the 2nd antenna is receive only.  But you will not get as good of a signal without it, so it will harm your reception if the signal becomes degraded enough.  If the signal strength is strong enough then 1 antenna connected to primary can be used.  Note: degraded doesn't just mean weak LTE signal it means low SNR which can also occur if there are a lot of other cellular devices in operation near you or other interferers.
