I Followed through the get started guide,  I got to the step that includes installing the firmware from the https://os.mbed.com/compiler. The light on the FRDM K-64 turns red after rebooting and eventually turns blue. I installed CoolTerm to monitor the output from the board. I am unable to see data on the m2x site. When monitoring the board with coolterm  I get the following error to the output window. socket is closed for write

You haven't provided enough information.  What board are you using, What software are you compiling. Which tutorial are you following.

I would love to tell you that but any time I include that information it marks my comment as spam. Is there a way around this problem so I can provide the error information?

Boards:
NXP FRDM-K64F
WNC model: M14A2A (cellular shield)

I Followed through the get started guide on at&t's website,

first:

https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/starterkit-assets/product_documents/G...

then:

https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/starterkit-assets/StarterKitGuide.pdf

software trying to be compiled found at:
https://os.mbed.com/teams/Demo-Software-for-AvnetATT-IoT-kit/code/AvnetA...

Can you try and run the example at https://github.com/Avnet/M14A2AGTTS_Example

This will not address your entire problem, but it will let us know that the hardware itself is operating correctly. This example does not interact with M2X/FLOW but if it works correctly, then we will know that the issue is with M2X/FLOW and not the hardware

To run this, simply import a new program on the online compiler from the URL provided above, then compile, and copy it to the board.

When trying to compile I get the following error on the online compiler

Error: Identifier "FIRMWARE_REV" is undefined in "source/main-x.cpp", Line: 121, Col: 40

What can I do to resolve this? I used the online compiler at

https://os.mbed.com/compiler/

I imported using the url you provided. Then clicked compile.

After updating the library i was able to resolve this issue. I am now proceeding with the rest of the process you described.
